Nritya Ganapati or Dancing Ganapati is the 15th of 32 forms of Lord Ganapathi. Dancing Ganapati as the name suggests is a happy dancer thus representing the euphoric nature of the divine. This dancer form also portrays Ganapati as a connoisseur of fine arts. Hence his worship is believed to bestow the devotees with an aptitude for learning fine arts, proficiency in them and also success and fame in that field. Hence this Lord is widely worshipped by artists, and especially by dancers.
With the dancing Ganapathi on a Diya, containing a wide oil container and one wick provision, the lamp lit can stay for approximately 3 hours. Recommended choice of lighting medium is Ghee; while sesame oil, Mustard oil, Coconut oil or a mixture of oils as per vedic equations are also preferred.
Ganapathi here is portrayed dancing on a Dais atop an ornate pillar with two annapakshis (Divine Swans) supporting it. The lamp is lit under the whole structure lighting up the entire art work from the center of the oil container and will dazzle up any corner with absolute transcendence!
